4. Health Awareness Program: Improving Hygiene & Rural Health

Overview

The Health Awareness Program aims to improve the overall health and hygiene standards of tribal and marginalized rural communities in Rayalaseema. Lack of awareness, limited healthcare access, and poor sanitation contribute to the spread of preventable diseases.

Health Education & Outreach

DWA conducts one-on-one counseling sessions, community meetings, and awareness camps focusing on preventive healthcare. Key topics include handwashing, safe drinking water, nutritious diets, waste disposal, and prevention of waterborne diseases.

Impact & Community Benefits

The program made a measurable impact by reaching 100 families, leading to improved hygiene practices and reduced illness.

In 2023, with support from LAMP, the program expanded to reach 150 families on a budget of ₹50,000, demonstrating strong cost-effective impact.

Long-Term Benefits

Improving hygiene practices leads to better health outcomes, fewer medical expenses, and stronger community well-being. This program helps families adopt healthier daily habits, creating long-term transformations.
