DALIT WELFARE ASSOCIATION (DWA)
The Dalit Welfare Association (DWA) is a trusted Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Andhra Pradesh, established on June 22, 1993, and registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Reg. No: 384/1993). Working extensively across the Kurnool and Nandyal districts, DWA is committed to uplifting Dalit, tribal, and marginalized rural communities through long-term development programs rooted in dignity and justice.
For decades, the communities we serve have battled economic vulnerability, heavy dependence on forests for income, limited access to healthcare, widespread malnutrition, and poor sanitation. These challenges create cycles of poverty that demand persistent, community-led solutions.
DWA’s mission is to break these cycles by empowering tribal communities, women, children, and persons with disabilities using targeted interventions in quality education, health awareness, and sustainable livelihood programs. Our vision is simple yet powerful: to build an inclusive society where every individual has equal opportunities to grow, earn, and live with dignity.
With over 33 years of experience in community development, DWA has created tangible, lasting impact:
Through our Health Awareness Programs, we reached 100 families, promoting hygienic practices and reducing preventable diseases across rural villages.
We provided scholarships to 30 tribal children, supporting their education and helping them rise beyond generational poverty.
Our women empowerment programs, including tailoring and vocational training, equipped 50 young women with employment-ready skills.
The Sheep Rearing Initiative offered sustainable income to 20 single women, strengthening their financial independence.
Through the Dairy Development Project, 40 women improved their livelihoods and gained stable earnings.
During the pandemic, DWA extended COVID-19 Relief to 574 families, supplying essential commodities and safety materials at a critical time.
Each initiative strengthens not just individuals but entire communities—enhancing resilience, boosting local economies, and restoring dignity at every step.
DWA continues to stand with marginalized groups, ensuring they are Stronger Together, empowered with opportunity, knowledge, and hope for a better tomorrow.
